Tony Stark the teenager becomes Iron Man

Tony Stark became the invincible Iron Man after inventing a suit of armour that gave him flight capacity, repulsor rays and an inimitable confidence that armed him against kidnappers and helped to heal his injured body.

In a new animated version of the classic Marvel comic, Marvel Animation and Nicktoon Network unite in an effort to bring a younger Tony Stark to young contemporary viewers (ITV DVD release the first series in the UK on 7th September). In this version of events, genius Tony Stark invents the Iron Man suit when he is only a teenager.

In the first season of Iron Man: Armored Adventures, viewers watch as Tony Stark becomes the Golden Avenger and joins with War Machine, Spider-Woman, Century Hawkeye and the Scarlett Witch to battle against the forces of evil that seek dominion over the earth.

Chris Yost, the comic book writer behind Hulk vs. Thor and co-writer of Hulk vs. Wolverine, acts as head writer of the new animated series.

In a write-up on the show, Geeky Rant noted that the series looked as if “it will be fun,” though comic collectors should keep in mind that it is meant for a young audience.

Yost is known for keeping his audience in mind. The writer, speaking of the Hulk Vs. Wolverine film, told a panel at ComicCon: “With comic book fans if you screw it up, you will know forever. The goal for this movie, like the first one, was for it to be one hundred per cent for the fans. If others like it too, that’s great, but we’re really doing this for the fans.”
