Iron Man: Armored Adventures to be sold overseas
The popularity of Marvel’s CGI series Iron Man: Armored Adventures has proven to be worthy of a global audience, C21 Media reports. Distributor PGS Entertainment has sold the series to broadcasters in Europe, Russia, Asia and Latin America.
The series is to air on Jetix in the UK, France, Spain, Nordics, Eastern Europe and Latin America, as well as on Nicktoons in the US and Canada, Gulp in Italy, Globo in Brazil, Televisa in Mexico, CTC in Russia, Cartoon Network in Asia and Orlando Kids in ex-Yugoslavia.
PGS managing director Philippe Soutter said of the sale: “With the strong ratings which the show generated from its premiere airings in the USA, UK, Australia and Canada, we are very enthusiastic about presenting Iron Man: Armored Adventures to the broadcast marketplace Cannes in October.”
The series follows a teenage Tony Stark on his missions inside of the suit that makes him invincible – the suit that makes him Iron Man. After losing his father unexpectedly, the boy genius was inspired to use the wealth of resources at his disposal at Stark Industries to fight against the forces of evil. On top of everything, Tony must deal with the everyday pains of being a teenager as he attends high school with his friends Jim Rhodes and Pepper Potts.
“I guarantee you there is so much Iron Man in this show for comic book fans,” head writer Christopher Yost said in an interview with Comic Book Resources. “I love this show…. We’ve found ways to make it as Iron Man as Iron Man gets. The other thing we’re really proud of with this show is that it is a villain’s show. There are so many villains in this show and it’s pretty great.”
