Iron Man: Armored Adventures set for DVD release April 19

The vote is in for cartoon series Iron Man: Armored Adventures, and things are looking good for teenage hero Tony Stark and his greatest invention – a suit of iron that makes the wearer invincible.

The first season of the show has already experienced worldwide success, and an all-new batch of episodes is on its way for an explosive second season. And this spring, Iron Man: Armored Adventures DVD Volume 2 – as well as the complete DVD Series 1 set – is set for release.

The series centers on the adventures of brilliant teenage inventor Tony Stark, who is obviously not just your typical high school student. The 16-year-old is heir to billion dollar corporation Stark Industries, but his world is rocked when he barely escapes the mysterious plane crash that kills his father.

In order to honor the memory of his father, Tony puts on the Iron Man suit in order to protect others who would become victims of tragedy, corruption and conspiracy. With a little help from his friends Jim Rhodes and Pepper Pots, Tony finds himself in the midst of high-speed, high-octane missions for justice.

Although the show differs a bit from the original comic book series, creator Chris Yost asks that hardcore comic book fans give the critically acclaimed series a chance.
“The bottom line is no, it’s not going to be like the comic,” Yost tells Comic Book Resources. “You know what? The movie was not like the comic…. I guarantee you there is so much Iron Man in this show for comic book fans. I love this show…we’ve found ways to make it as Iron Man as Iron Man gets. The other thing that we’re really proud of with this show is that it is a villain’s show. There are so many villains in this show and that is pretty great.”
