Iron Man: Armored Adventures released!
Episodes from the first season of the new animated series Iron Man: Armored Adventures have been released on DVD this week, and fans are clamoring to get their hands on CGI animation featuring teenage prodigy Tony Stark and his escapades inside of the Iron Man suit that makes him invincible.
The young superhero’s adventures begin when his father, industrialist Howard Stark, dies in a plane crash and Tony puts on his Iron Man suit to investigate his father’s successor, Obidiah Stane, and his efforts to change the face of Stark Industries.
“I guarantee you there is so much Iron Man in this show for comic book fans,” head writer Christopher Yost told Comic Book Resources. “…The other thing we’re really proud of with this show is that it is a villain’s show. There are so many villains in this show and it’s pretty great.”
The first season of the series plays host to a variety of villains from the comic book series that fans will instantly recognize.
Yost continued: “For the most part, the villains that Tony faces are pretty much on target. They’re the adult villains. You’ve got characters like Whiplash, Crimson Dynamo and Blizzard…. You’ve got guys like Unicorn and Killer Shrike. You know, things that don’t quite make the top ten villain list of all time. But at the same time you’ve got the Mandarin and the Living Laser, so you’ve got the big ones in there too. But we used as many as we could humanly possibly fit in there.”
Yost is not only a hardcore comic book fan, but has extensive experience working for Marvel, where he began his career as an intern at the comic company’s west coast office.
