Iron Man: Armored Adventures – Pepper and Rhodey

Iron Man: Armored Adventures presents the exploits of a teenage Tony Stark, whose invincibility inside of his Iron Man suit makes him a likely contender against the forces of evil.

The show is often heralded for its excellent animation and extensive list of villains, and the show’s head writer worked hard at maintaining the original personalities of the characters from the comic book series.
In addition to creating a teenage Tony Stark that is recognizable to Iron Man fans, Yost also wanted the supporting cast of Pepper and Rhodey to appear as the same characters that fans were already familiar with.
“I think Rhodey is pretty close to what we’ve seen in the movie and books,” Yost tells Comic Book Resources. “He’s Tony’s best friend and he’s also kind of the voice of reason. He’s the one that kind of grounds Tony and says, ‘Whoa.’ He’s the conservative voice in this.”

The first season of the animated series is about to be released on DVD, and the youthful cast of heroes makes it a perfect gift for young comic book fans.

“Pepper kind of goes off and it’s a little of a different take,” Yost goes on to admit. “She’s the one that, when the show starts, is very pro-Iron Man but she does not know that it is Tony Stark. She’s essentially Iron Man’s biggest fan. Her father on the show is an FBI agent and she is very pro-justice. She’s very excited to see Iron Man out there flying around and taking down bad guys.”
