Iron Man: Armored Adventures on DVD Today!
The first Iron Man movie starring Robert Downey Jr. has done much to popularize the character of Tony Stark and all of his high-tech toys, and now the cartoon series Iron Man: Armored Adventures is doing much of the same – and on a global scale.
Entertainment-focus.com writes: “The animation in this series fuses computer generated images with classic cartoon techniques….there are also some genuinely fantastic moments throughout the series too, like when the suit fuses onto him – something that makes me reminisce about classic eighties cartoon Centurions in its style application. The action works well and despite featuring a young Tony in high school, manages to work in his storylines from the comics and re-applicate them to this more modern surrounding.”
Volume 2 of the Iron Man: Armored Adventures collection is finally available in stores today, April 19. This edition of the series contains episodes 16-24 of the show’s first season: Pepper Interrupted, Panther’s Prey, Meltdown, Fun with Lasers, Chasing Ghosts, Technovore, World on Fire, Designed only for Chaos, Don’t Worry Be Happy, Uncontrollable, Best Served Cold, Tales of Suspense Pt. 1 and Tales of Suspense Pt. 2.
The DVD package is a perfect gift for Iron Man fans who have already acquired Volume 1 of the set – but for fans who have yet to purchase the show on DVD, a complete box set version containing both Volumes 1 and 2 is also available April 19.
“I was very wary of having a show based around a young version of Stark,” continues the review at Entertainment Focus, “…it does impress and will reward you as the season progresses.”
The critically acclaimed show makes Iron Man accessible to a younger audience by creating a teenage version of hero Tony Stark. The series also incorporates a great variety of villains from the comic book – such as the Mandarin, Ghost and the Living Laser. Expect a lot of action in these fine-tuned CGI animated episodes!
