Iron Man: Armoured Adventures writer chats with SHU
At the time Chris Yost, head writer for the Iron Man: Armored Adventures television series, gave an interview to Super Hero Universe, Yost was working on the animated series. In addition to the Iron Man cartoon, Yost wrote both the Hulk Vs stories – alongside co-writer Craig Kyle – and some of the New X-Men comics.
Originally a writer for animation, Yost was awarded work on issues of the New X-Men when his talent for super heroes got him noticed by Marvel Comics. Though the writer admits he prefers working on comics, the Iron Man animated series lets his talent for a good story shine equally well.
In addition to Iron Man: Armoured Adventures, Yost is also working on an animated version of Avengers, which will be released around 2011. (He refused to tell the website whether Hulk would be getting along with the Avengers, though he suggested that it was currently one of the things the behind-the-scenes crew was discussing.)
When asked what words of advice he may have for any aspiring writers or comic creators, Yost replied that the internet is very helpful for promotion of one’s work, as the industry is always looking for writers with good original ideas. “The cream rises to the top,” added the comic creator.
There are a few differences between the Iron Man: Animated Adventures and the mainstream version of the story – for one, main character Tony Stark becomes Iron Man as a teenager in the television series instead of as an adult, as he does in the mainstream version.
Iron Man’s armor in the television series is incredibly similar to that of the recently released live action film – though the cartoon version proves to be a bit less complex, and involves less yellow coloring.
