Hardcore Iron Man fans will connect with Iron Man: Armored Adventures

The new animated series Iron Man: Armored Adventures comes armed with talented and experienced Marvel Comic writer Christopher Yost, whose resume includes episodes of the incredibly popular X-Men Evolution and the creation of new character X-23, the teenage Wolverine clone.

In a recent interview with Comic Book Resources, Iron Man: Armored Adventures head writer Yost discussed what it meant for him to make this show, and the original misgivings he had about making Tony Stark a teenager for the series.

In order to make the Iron Man character a bit more relatable to the demographic the show aimed at, Yost was asked to make the hero into a teenager. This way, instead of a ladies’ man who enjoys a drink or two here and there, kids can watch a high school aged hero do battle with evil villains and still make it to school on time every morning.

Yost insists that although there have been changes made from the original comic book series, fans will still love this show. A self-proclaimed hardcore comic book fan himself, Yost wasn’t sure a teenage Tony Stark would work at first – but in the later stages of the project, the writer realized how much he loved this projet.
“I guarantee you there is so much Iron Man in this show for comic book fans,” he said. “I love this show. Trust me, I was right there with the fans when they came to me and said, ‘Okay, teen Tony, go!’ I was like, ‘No way.’ But as it went on we’ve found ways to make it as Iron Man as Iron Man gets.”

No doubt young Iron Man fans will love these first episodes of the series – recently released on DVD – and hardcore fans of the comic are sure to discover the Tony Stark they’ve come to know as well.
